Located on the banks of the Upper Iowa River, only 10 minutes from Decorah and Luther College, Hutchinson Family Farm offers a unique outdoor experience for both campers and non-campers.

We are a working beef/quarter horse farm with a campground  catering to families and outdoor enthusiasts. Our riverside campsites and open spaces encourage family centered activities. 
 

Our on-site kayak/canoe rental and shuttle services are convenient and hassle free. Just set up camp, rent a canoe or kayak and we shuttle you upstream to drop off points of 2, 4 or 6 hours paddle time. When you reach the campground, just pull your boat onto the beach. Your campsite is ready and/or so is your vehicle. You will have paddled the most scenic part of the Upper Iowa River, and there is no waiting for shuttle pick-up.

Our log cabin sleeps 6-8 and is completely furnished with kitchen supplies and bedding. A large patio with fire ring offers a scenic view of the river bluffs. Refrigerator, microwave and television make "roughing it" a pleasure.

The B&B, located in our farm home, features 2 rooms and a shared bath. Experience a taste of farm life as you watch the cattle and horses from the deck. We love to talk about the farm and agriculture in general. If time permits, both yours and ours, we offer a tour of the farm free of charge.

          If fishing is your sport, the Upper Iowa is one of the Midwest's finest rivers. Walleyes and trout are frequently reeled in, however, small mouth bass fishing is the best (just ask our grandsons).

          Wildlife flourishes in our river valley. Pheasant, turkey and deer make for abundant fall hunting. Hunt for a day or a week, your and your dog are always welcome.

          Horse camping and guided trail rides available through our scenic river valley wood hills.
